Whether the government should provide free Internet service has been debated. While some people believe that the government should offer free Internet, others think that they should not. However, I totally agree with the former for several reasons
First, when the government provides free Internet service for everyone, people’s quality of life can be improved. Nowadays, when living in a fast-paced environment, young people tend to move to a city to have more opportunities for future careers. Therefore, they have to live far away from their families, which makes them feel alone. When they are offered Internet at no cost, they will stay connected with friends and family anytime and anywhere without staying at home. For example, when I started getting a new job in a big city, I needed to rent an apartment far from my hometown. Although I work from 8 a.m to 8p.m and take a bus to come home, I don’t feel bored and exhausted during my trip. Because the government offers me free wifi, so I can call video and share my stories around me on my way.
Second, free Internet provided by the government brings benefits for society, especially people living in the countryside. To be specific, it ensures that they have equal access to global and local information, which results in a high level of public awareness. As we know that a countryside normally has poor conditions, so not many low-income families can afford to sign up for monthly Internet subscriptions. Staying informed of what is happening and accessing up-to-date and accurate information will benefit in both their professional and personal lives. For example, in a suburb, they still update themselves on the latest economic trends. This knowledge helps them improve their skills and experience to meet company requirements and remain competitive in the labor market . As a result, this allows to narrow the gap between rural and urban areas.
In conclusion, I believe that the government should support free Internet service because they bring a huge influence on citizens and society.

The Internet has become an essential part of modern life. In my opinion, the government should offer free Internet access because it would bring numerous benefits.
First, when the government provides free Internet service for everyone, people's quality of life can be improved. Free Internet allows people to stay connected with their friends and family no matter where they are, which reduces feelings of isolation and loneliness. This kind of connectivity is especially important for those who live far from home. Additionally, free Internet offers people access to a wide range of entertainment options, such as streaming movies, listening to music, and playing online games, which can help them relax and enjoy their free time. Beyond entertainment, free Internet access also makes it easier for people to use important services, like booking medical appointments, checking public transportation schedules, and managing their banking online. All these factors together significantly improve people’s living standards.
Second, free Internet service provided by the government can promote social equity. It ensures that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has equal access to essential resources such as education, information, and job opportunities. With free Internet, anyone can access online educational materials, study from anywhere, and develop necessary skills. Furthermore, free Internet allows people to stay informed about current events, which helps them keep up-to-date with the latest and accurate information and therefore make wise decisions. In terms of job opportunities, it enables people to search for jobs, submit applications, or even attend virtual interviews without geographical constraints. This equal access helps narrow the gap between rural and urban areas. In general, free Internet contributes to a higher level of public awareness.
In conclusion, free Internet access should be a vital public service as it would enhance the quality of life and ensure equal opportunities for all.
